WELCOME TO THE CHIRON PRESS!
The animated Gif you see here: "Bird of Hope"- is based on one of many wood-engravings I have done over the past eighteen years and produced using my small private press known as "The Chiron Press".
I came across the technique of wood-engraving quite by chance during my last year at art school, although I am a self-taught wood-engraver - there was no formal teaching of wood-engraving at the time. I was fortunate enough to borrow some tools and a piece of wood from one of the tutors and began what has become a love and passion for the art. I established The Chiron Press in 1983 in order to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of wood-engraving and this happily continues - giving me a great deal of pleasure ( click on small private press link to find out more about workshops, printed stationery and artist's books)
